📖 This Week's Story

Today we're going to learn about the amazing journeys of Saint Paul, one of the most important apostles in our Church! Paul wasn't always a follower of Jesus. At first, he was called Saul and he didn't like Christians at all. But one day, Jesus appeared to him in a bright light on the road to Damascus, and everything changed! Saul became Paul, a devoted apostle of Christ. Paul decided to travel all around the world to tell everyone about Jesus. He went on three big missionary journeys! Can anyone guess how Paul traveled back then? That's right - he walked for miles and miles, and sometimes sailed on boats across dangerous seas! On his first journey, Paul went to places like Cyprus and Turkey with his friend Barnabas. He visited synagogues and town squares, telling people about Jesus' love. Some people believed, but others got angry and chased Paul away! On his second journey, Paul traveled even further, reaching Greece and starting new churches. His third journey took him back to visit the Christians he had already met, encouraging them to stay strong in their faith. Paul was very brave! He was shipwrecked, put in prison, and faced many dangers. But nothing stopped him from sharing the Good News of Jesus. Who can tell me why Paul kept going even when things got scary? Yes, because he loved Jesus so much! In our Maronite tradition, we especially honor Saint Paul because he brought Christianity to many lands, just like our Maronite missionaries did centuries later. Paul wrote many letters to the churches he started - we still read these letters during our Divine Liturgy today! Paul teaches us that no matter who we are or what we've done before, Jesus can change our hearts and use us to spread His love to others.
