📖 This Week's Story

Today we're going to learn about the Three Wise Men, or المجوس الثلاثة, who traveled from far away to visit baby Jesus! After Jesus was born in Bethlehem, three very wise men from the East were studying the stars in the sky. One night, they saw something amazing - a bright, beautiful star they had never seen before! They knew this special star meant something wonderful had happened. The wise men believed this star was announcing the birth of a great King. So they decided to follow the star to find this newborn King. Can anyone tell me what you think they brought with them for baby Jesus? That's right! They packed precious gifts - gold, frankincense, and myrrh. These were very expensive and special gifts, fit for a King! The wise men traveled for many days and nights, always following the bright star. When they finally reached Bethlehem, the star stopped right above the house where Jesus was staying with Mary and Joseph. The wise men were filled with joy! They went inside and found baby Jesus with his mother Mary. What do you think they did when they saw Jesus? Yes! They knelt down and worshipped Him, because they knew He was the Son of God. Then they presented their precious gifts to baby Jesus. In our Maronite tradition, we celebrate the Feast of the Epiphany to remember this special visit. The wise men teach us that Jesus came for all people, not just those nearby, but people from every land. Just like the wise men, we should seek Jesus with our whole hearts and offer Him our very best gifts - our love, prayers, and good deeds.
