Water into Wine

Today we're going to learn about Jesus's very first miracle - when He turned water into wine at a wedding! This amazing story shows us how much Jesus cares about people and their happiness. One day, Jesus and His mother Mary were invited to a wedding party in a town called Cana. Everyone was celebrating and having a wonderful time! But suddenly, something terrible happened - they ran out of wine for the guests. In those days, this was very embarrassing for the family. Mary noticed the problem and went to Jesus. She believed her son could help. Can anyone tell me what you think Jesus might do to help? Jesus told the servants to fill six big stone jars with water - the same kind of jars we use in our Maronite tradition for washing hands before meals. Then Jesus did something amazing! He blessed the water, and when the servants poured it out, it had become the most delicious wine anyone had ever tasted! The wedding master was so surprised - usually people serve the best wine first, but this wine was even better than what they had before. What do you think the people felt when they saw this miracle? The disciples who saw this began to truly believe that Jesus was special - that He was the Son of God. This miracle teaches us that Jesus cares about all parts of our lives, even our celebrations and happy times. Just like in our Maronite liturgy where we remember how Jesus blessed bread and wine, this story reminds us that Jesus brings joy and abundance into our lives. When we have problems, we can ask Jesus for help, just like Mary did.
