📖 This Week's Story

Today we're going to learn about the most wonderful birth that ever happened - the birth of Jesus! Long, long ago, God sent the angel Gabriel to a young woman named Mary in Nazareth. The angel told Mary she would have a very special baby - God's own Son! Mary said yes to God's plan. Around this time, Mary and her husband Joseph had to travel to Bethlehem for a census. It was a long journey, and Mary was about to have her baby. When they arrived in Bethlehem, all the inns were full! Can anyone tell me what they might have felt like when there was no room for them? The only place they could find was a stable where animals lived. That night, in this humble stable, Jesus was born! Mary wrapped Him in swaddling clothes and laid Him in a manger - that's like a food box for animals. Nearby, shepherds were watching their sheep when suddenly angels appeared in the sky! The angels sang 'Glory to God in the highest!' and told them about baby Jesus. The shepherds hurried to see the newborn King. What do you think the shepherds said when they saw baby Jesus? In our Maronite tradition, we remember this holy night with special prayers and songs. We celebrate because God came to earth as a little baby to show us His love. Even though Jesus was born in a simple stable, He was the most important baby ever born - our Savior and Lord! This teaches us that God can do amazing things in humble places, and His love reaches everyone, rich and poor alike.
